Founder & Visionary - Pastor Steven A. Rose

STEVEN A. ROSE is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was a founding member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Shortridge High School.  He has been involved in the production and technical side of television for over 25 years.  During that time, he produced an award-winning show on Public Access television (American Cablevision) and served as a consultant for several local church broadcast programs.

Steve graduated from Indiana University (IUPUI) with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications.

Steve became a member of Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in 1976.  In 1988, Steve acknowledged his call into the ministry.  He received his license to preach in 1989 and he was ordained in 1992.

God had even more for Steve to do. Christ’s Open Door Baptist Church called him to be their assistant pastor in 1993, where he served faithfully until 1997.  His next assignment was at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the Associate Pastor over the Audio-Video-Broadcast Ministry. There, God gave Steve the opportunity to combine his professional expertise with his spiritual leadership. He was the executive director of “In The Spirit” television show which was sponsored by the church.

All of these under-shepherd opportunities allowed Steve to grow and mature as a spiritual leader.  Under the unction of the Holy Spirit, Steve was led to start Ecclesia Fellowship Church in 2007. In addition to pastoring The Ecclesia Fellowship flock, God has also called Steve to serve as the Assistant Pastor of The Christ Missionary Baptist Church where The Reverend John E. Girton is the Senior Pastor.

In 2013, Steve took on an entirely different role as the Creator, Host, and Executive Producer of the “How Sweet The Sounds” internet radio show where he highlights gospel and inspirational music written or recorded in the 21st century. The audience is also treated to historical information behind the recordings, the artists, the recording companies and the culture of the time. Although the “sounds” are the stars of HSTS, Steve and his co-hosts also interview guests who provide information about beneficial services and/or upcoming events pertinent to the audience.

Steve has served on the board of the Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis and the production team of “Faces of Faith”, the television show produced by the Federation.  It was another unique combination of his faith walk and his broadcast expertise that allowed him to be selected to serve on the media team for the Pew Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2000.  Steve thought this would be the highlight of his professional career, but God had bigger things planned.  In 2004, God allowed Steve to attend the ACC in Yaoundé, Cameroon on the African content.  Steve was the producer and director for the documentation videos from the conference.

In addition, Pastor Steve is honoured to currently serve as the Chaplain of the Avondale Meadows YMCA.
